A concept I came up with after playing Dixit with my family (it's a card game with image-word association). There was this one card with a tree, whose branches were lowering a glowing fruit towards a reclining figure. I found that fascinating and it brought back memories of old Bulgarian tales I've read as a child about golden apples and flaming birds and what have you, and I wondered what if it's a magical healing fruit. What kind of ailment would that be a remedy for? And if it was such a powerful cure, then it must be protected in some way or lie surrounded by hostile forces, as it always does in fairytales.
So I did some sketches and explorations but it wasn't until taking the CGMA composition class that I settled on this version with the help of Axel Sauerwald.
